Primary Functions of FISETIN HYDRATE

Primary Functions of FISETIN HYDRATE

  1. Anti-Aging and Senolytic Activity (Clearance of Senescent Cells)
Fisetin has been demonstrated as a potent senolytic agent, selectively inducing apoptosis or autophagy in senescent cells without affecting healthy cells. Its efficacy surpasses that of resveratrol, curcumin, and other analogs, achieving over 68% clearance of senescent cells. By reducing the accumulation of senescent cells, it lowers the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-6, TNF-α) and reactive oxygen species (ROS), thereby delaying tissue degeneration and improving age-related diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis and atherosclerosis.

  2. Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects

    • Inhibits inflammatory signaling pathways like NF-κB, reducing levels of inflammatory mediators and alleviating chronic inflammation-induced damage to the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
    • Activates the Nrf2 pathway, enhancing the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione, neutralizing free radicals, and protecting DNA and mitochondria from oxidative damage.
  3. Neuroprotection and Cognitive Enhancement

    • Suppresses the expression of inflammatory mediators in microglia and regulates serotonin receptor-mediated neurotransmission, alleviating anxiety, depression, and inflammation-related neural injury.
    • Animal studies show that fisetin increases dopamine levels in Parkinson’s disease model mice by 1.8–2.2 times, improving motor function.
  4. Skin Health and Anti-Aging

    • Selectively clears approximately 66% of senescent dermal fibroblasts, inhibits the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP), reduces collagen loss, and increases collagen density by 41.2%, delaying wrinkle formation.
    • Modulates immune-related signaling pathways (e.g., mTOR/IL-17A) to improve autoimmune skin conditions such as psoriasis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
  5. Bone Health

    • Inhibits the RANKL signaling pathway, reduces inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6), upregulates Runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) expression, promotes bone formation, and improves osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
  6. Hair Health

    • Increases telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) expression, induces proliferation of hair follicle stem cells, and promotes hair growth.
    • Inhibits the activity of type 1 5α-reductase, reducing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone and alleviating androgenetic alopecia.
