What is Acetyl Glycyl Beta-Alanine
Acetyl Glycyl Beta-Alanine
Chinese Name: Acetyl Glycyl Beta-Alanine, Trade Name: GenoWhite® INCI: Acetyl Glycyl Beta-Alanine Synthetic brightening tripeptide (cosmetic active raw material) Appearance: White powder, water-soluble, to be incorporated into the aqueous phase only.
✅ Main Functions (Brightening & Depigmenting) Different from Arbutin and 4-n-Butylresorcinol, it acts on the upstream signaling pathway of melanin formation instead of merely inhibiting tyrosinase.
- Blocks melanin initiation signal: It competitively binds to MC1R receptor, blocks the α-MSH signal that instructs melanocytes to produce melanin and downregulates MITF, reducing melanin synthesis at the source without damaging melanocytes for high safety.
- Inhibits melanosome transfer: Even if a small amount of melanin is generated, it prevents melanosomes from transporting to keratinocytes in the superficial skin layer to fade formed pigmentation.
- Targets post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH): Effective for acne marks and dark discoloration after redness. It is a mild brightening peptide widely adopted in EU formulations and friendly to sensitive skin.
- Fades spots, evens skin tone and boosts skin translucency: Improves pigment spots and dull, uneven complexion. Clinical data shows brightening effect is observable within 14 days at 2% usage level.
- Non-photosensitizing, suitable for daytime formulations: Stable under light, no photosensitive irritation. Applicable for day & night creams and serums.
Recommended usage level in finished formulation: 0.5–2%. For leave-on facial serums and creams.
🧪 Additional Formulation Properties Solubility: Freely soluble in water, insoluble in oils. Stability: Good stability against light and heat, easy formulation handling. Market compliance: Compliant with EU cosmetic regulations.
